Hanging Around

Hello, everyone!
I managed to complete and hang up my new DIY Jewellery Hanger!
My necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings are all tidy!

This was very simple to make, and it cost me under £10! Want to find out how I made it? Keep reading!

You will need:
  1. A canvas (£3-literally thousands..)
  2. Push pins (£1-£20, buy the cheap ones!)
  3. Spray paint/any other paint (£2-£10)
  4. any other decorations

  • Okay, well first of all I bought a cheap canvas. I didn't manage to take a photo of the canvas before I started, but this is basically what canvases look like just in case you didn't know:

Usually about £3 from shops like The Range
  • Then, I removed all of the canvas paper, to reveal the frame. This was rather time consuming, but I got it all off in around 5 minutes. It should be a lot easier if you use a staple remover. ( I couldn't find mine)

  • Once the canvas paper was removed, I pushed push pins into the frame. I had to use pliers to squeeze the pin all the way in. Make sure that you place the pins where you're sure you'll want them because they're very difficult to take out after they're in. I recommend you set out the "necklace" area at the top so that they drop into the centre of the frame. It doesn't matter which colour the pins are, just make sure they are the "big" ones. Like this:
These were about £1.50 from the supermarket.

  • I didn't manage to take any photos after this point, but all I had to do afterwards was decorate the frame.
  • I only used dark-ish grey spray paint. It only cost me £4.99 and was the most expensive resource. You can probably buy them cheaper on eBay, but I needed the paint for another project anyway. I used 2 or 3 coats, I cant quite remember but lighter colours may need more.
You can find this basically anywhere.
  • You can use whatever you want to decorate your hanger. Use stickers, or glitter, or tie ribbon around it. Be sure that it suits the room it's being placed in. Get creative!!

Thanks for giving this a read and I hope I helped!
